Building Stronger Universities

Education can fight poverty and develop communities. Denmark has a long partnership with Nepal, dating back to 1992, in relation to supporting the education system and getting more children to attend and finish primary school.

Time Frame: 2014-2016
Budget: DKK 5.3 million

Denmark is currently supporting Kathmandu University in building research policies and strategies, generating quality research and PhD’s, and improving libraries. The aim with the programme is to strengthen the quality of higher education in Nepal and give the youth the possibility to obtain a good education in their home country.
Denmark has also sponsored research partnerships between Nepali and Danish scholars through the South Driven Development Research Programme, which is supporting many students to pursue their Masters and PhD studies.
