Yesterday, ´Enhancing Human Rights Protection in Law Enforcement and Security Agencies in Nepal` was launched at the Hotel Himalayan in Lalitpur. The project is a collaboration between Kathmandu School of Law, the Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, District Forest Office and the two Danish institutions the Danish National Police and Danish Institute for Human Rights.  The objective is to strengthen the capacities of state officials to prevent and address human rights challenges within the Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, and Forest Officials and Security Guards. The project also seeks to promote good governance by preventing and reducing human rights violations in general and the improper use of force and torture within the security sector.

Furthermore the project is contributing to the objectives set out of the Peace, Rights and Governance Programme (2014-2018) by the Embassy of Denmark in Nepal.
